The Bend Academy of Art has MOVED!

The Bend Academy of Art is happy to announce our new location, new name and new business model! We have moved across country to Bridgton, Maine and will be opened for business this spring. The new name is Factor Fine Art. We will now have the space to finally run the Center for the Arts, Gallery and Studio we have been dreaming of and that was sadly unafordable in Bend.

Please check us out at our new and developing website, www.factorfineart.com for more info, details and to stay tuned in to our grand opening date, upcoming events, workshops, visiting artist lectures, and courses. You can also sign up for our email newsletter from the intro page there.

The curriculum and schedule will change a bit from the Academy, but many things will stay the same as far as the teaching philosophy and approach.

The Academy was first and only school of its kind in Oregon. The curriculum at Factor Fine Art will echo that of the Academy. It is thorough, well rounded and geared towards the diversity, needs, desires, and interests of our unique community.

Our in-person and online courses and workshops range from Drawing, Painting, Anatomy, and Perspective to Illustration, Sculpture, Design and Digital Photography.

Our teaching philosophies and practices are based on a traditional three-level sequence:

Level One: Foundational skill building using the classical approach to drawing, painting, sculpture, anatomy, and perspective.

Level Two: Development and mastery of techniques beyond the foundations, focusing on the personal language of the individual, introducing narrative and content to the work while understanding one's place in the canon of art history.

Level Three: Unifying the technical, conceptual and personal vision of the artist with the inherent nature of the subject of study (Technical Narrative) and establishing a continuous discourse with the contemporary fine art and design worlds.

At the third level, some students will decide to pursue a teaching path and will begin a studio assistantship. This will be offered at the completion of the three-level training sequence.

In addition to the courses at our main location,
we are offering study abroad programs and workshops in Italy and Peru. We are also scheduling educational art and cultural tours of New York City and Boston. Keep an eye on our new website and Facebook Page for updates and additions to these exciting opportunities.

Class size will be very limited. Feel free to EMAIL or call with any questions or to register for our upcoming courses listed HEREOur website is continuously being updated so keep checking in and sign up for our quarterly email NEWSLETTER.

We look forward to seeing you at Factor Fine Art, we will miss Bend but are thrilled to be adding to the art and culture of Bridgton, Central Maine, and the great Northeast.

With much gratitude and respect,
