Course Description: This course will be taught online using ZOOM for group meetings and video conferencing. Students must have access to the internet and register (FREE) on the Academy ZOOM site. It is for artists and students who possess strong fundamental skills in basic drawing techniques, as well as familiarity with materials. It will begin with drawing from either live models or figure poses from photo reference that each individual student will acquire. The drawings will then develop into a personal narrative through the gathering and utilization of photographs, sketches, and any visual references from the student's personal research. These items will be added to the model's original pose as students develop a unique subject and environment for their drawings over time. The goal will be to create a constructed image which depicts a setting constructed from many different sources. The final compositions are unrestricted and can range from realistic scenes to abstracted visual interpretations. Reference gathering, research, compositional development, collage, and the use of non-traditional materials and techniques will allow students freedom throughout the image making process. This course will greatly benefit each artist's personal visual story telling abilities.

Course Description: Offered for all skill levels. During this course, students will be studying the human form while working with a live model every class session. The course will be split into two, 20-hour poses with time for gestures and sketches in preperation for the final image. Students will be encouraged to paint and/or draw with any material of any size on a surface of their choosing. This course focuses on efficiency throughout the image making process and teaches students proper development of a long pose figure painting/drawing.
