Course Description: This unique course introduces students to the concepts and techniques applied to abstracting the human form. Investigating realism through non-objective expressionism the students will study the history, theory and techniques of pushing the limits of representationalism to reach a more personal expressive language. We will look at examples of artists who have historically searched for a balance of the many different modes of figurative image making.

This is an excellent, fun, exciting and fulfilling class for beginner and career artists alike. Anyone interested in exploring the endless possibilities of figurative art will benefit. Drawing, painting, collage, and digital mediums are all encouraged.

There will a high level of one-on-one time and attention from the instructor given the online Zoom Format.

Students must have a computer/tablet with the current version of Zoom. It is also recommended to have a second device (smart phone/tablet) for a two-camera setup.
